Hey all,

important news: BetterDummy is being rebranded as BetterDisplay.

The rationale behind the name change is that the app was updated these past few months with several new features - most of these are generally useful display management stuff, and not really about dummies (PIP and streaming, layout management, brightness control and XDR/HDR upscaling etc). I was already seriously contemplating the name change when brightness management was added but the last push was the implementation of fully scalable native HiDPI screens for Apple Silicon macs (available in the latest beta) which was the reason most users actually used dummies.

Creating and managing dummy displays are and will be a very important aspect of BetterDisplay and many of the related enhancements in the request list will be added in upcoming releases (dummy displays have their own unique features and are useful in their own right - this change will let them be what they actually are). At the same time I plan to add a lot of additional generic display related features as well.

All the recent improvements and all the foreseeable future improvements are and will be free for existing Pro users. Several of the recent and planned new features are and will be available for free users as well. So stay tuned! :)
