You might want to try to disable the various sleep related settings in the app and see if this improves things. If not, then there is no much to do (with these disabled, BetterDummy does absolutely nothing when the app receives a sleep notification or on wake - so the issue is probably at macOS API/kernel level). I was running a Hackintoshes for years in the past as hobby projects - while having real macs as well - so I totally empathize btw. :) |

I have been using Better Dummy On my Hackintosh for a while and it was working great. But it seems like since macOS 12.3.1/12.4 Better Dummy start to cause system panic every time when the screens go black(eg. screen idle timeout or esc on lockscreen). When screen goes black the system cannot be wake up normally , only by long press the power button to force shutdown the system and reboot. From the Translated Report (attached below) it has something with the com.apple.VirtualDisplayListener and com.apple.CoreDisplay.subsidiary.services.queue ,so I quit Better Dummy manually and no kernel panic since that. I try to reset Better Dummy but it doesn't help.
I do have to admit I am using a Hackintosh so it may just be mine config problem ,I also try to use xzhih/one-key-hidpi https://github.com/xzhih/one-key-hidpi to manually set HiDPI for my display (I use that successfully enable HiDPI on internal 14 inch 25601440 screen , but failed to set my LG 24 inch 1080P screen in portrait mode to 8281472 HiDPI ,only get option to set Resolution to 16562944 without HiDPI and make text extremely small, SwitchResX seems not helping too. I do read somewhere says "a 1920x1080hidpi is marked as "not usable for the desktop". "https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/668462 )
But my Hackintosh build is kind not that buggy, with Better Dummy quitted my system can run everything stable for days without any kernel panic , so I just wonder maybe if its not the app problem, you can show me where I should patch further to improve stability and use the app normally ,with out Better Dummy I can only set my screen to 1600900 with blurry text and everything .
My current setup is Dell E7470 with one 1080P portrait screen from HDMI, one 4k main screen from DP and internal 2k display .Kernel panic is trigged with three screen on or only with one 1080P screen(laptop in clamshell mode)
