Use Brightness keys to adjust Contrast #3767
-
I have an unusual request. I have a G3223Q Dell Gaming monitor connected to a Mac (16-inch 2019 MacBook Pro) using DisplayPort (USB-C to DisplayPort). When the DisplayPort is connected, the monitor brightness cannot be adjusted through DDC or the OSD; it is locked at 75%. The contrast, in contrast, can be adjusted. Therefore, I would like to control the contrast via the brightness keyboard keys, but could not find any way to set this. |

That works! Thanks so much for the assistance! I'd really like to know why the DisplayPort locks the brightness at 75%, but that's not apparent in the user manual or anywhere else I've looked. It could have to do with the fact that I'm using a Mac and therefore can't load Dell's Display Manager. I admit I bought this monitor knowing it wasn't super Mac-friendly. |

I found this question because I was trying something similar. Both brightness and contrast can be adjusted in my case, but for contrast I don't have hotkeys. I was thinking to use control with brightness up/down, but its not accepted under Settings / Keyboard. I tried other combinations but it seems the brightness keys are simply not accepted, is that correct? |

If you want to remap the brightness DDC control to contrast, simply override the control code for brightness (from
10
change it to12
). You can do so underDDC Features...
under the display's settings.
