I don't see HiDPI resolutions but normal and 'low resolution' ones. Why is that? #23

It's ok, Monterey lists normal/hidpi resolutions in two styles depending on configruation:

  • Sometimes it lists normal resolutions for example as '1920x1080' and hidpi as '1920x1080 (HiDPI)',
  • other times does the reverse, it lists hidpi resolutions as '1920x1800 (low resolution)' and hidpi ones as simply '1920x1080'.

Why it does this? Nobody knows, its just how the guys programmed the Displays panel did it - maybe Joe liked option B, Jack option B and depending on which subroutine kicks in, sometimes it works Joe's way, other times Jack's way...

What matters is the result - if the screen clarity is OK and you can zoom into the screen and see that the graphics is high res, you are using Hi…
