About this version

This version is about compatibility with older Macs. Support for macOS X 10.14 Mojave and 10.15 Catalina is now added! No Mac is left behind! All major features should be working.

Meanwhile the work on the new v2.x is also continuing. Due to the nature of the rewrite (the goal is to use the latest APIs and technologies both internally and for the app UI), that version will require Monterey 12.4 and newer. Initially there will be feature parity between the v1.x and v2.x versions, so users of older Macs will not miss out on anything (aside from the revamped UI of course).

Note: the previous, mostly identical v1.4.8 version had a bug that caused the app to crash when an external display was connected to Intel Macs running recent macOS versions - this update is to fix that issue. Sorry the trouble caused!

Notes about Mojave and Catalina support

• Support for these older systems is experimental.
• Testing was done on a 2017 iMac with AMD graphics - this is among the newer Macs still capable of running Mojave. The app might not run equally well on all legacy configurations.
• If your Mac is capable of running newer systems, it is advised to upgrade.
• In order to run the app on Mojave, the very latest 10.14.6 version is required.
• Please give feedback if you encounter any issues!

This version has an issue - the HDR toggle does not work on some systems. Preparing an other update to fix this... What a day! :)
