Is it bad to use xdr upscaling?

Hi I wonder,

• If there could be any long term damage on display if I use xdr upscaling for a long period of time?
• When BetterDisplay app is closed, all settings went back to default OS settings?
• Is xdr upscaling changes how colors work? (on and off)
