Hyperdrive Dual HDMI Hub compatible ?

Hi, I have 2 external monitors

• I use 2k 16:9 as a main monitors (HDMI port 1 support 4k 60Hz)
• LG DualUp 28MQ870 as a second one (HDMI port 2 support 4k 30Hz)

Hyperdrive dual hdmi hub displays wrong resolution on LG DualUp (16:9 instead of 16:18) , so that I create a custom dummy with 16:18 ratio
I tried to mirror my LG screen with that dummy but thing does not work

Do you have any idea on how to do it ? Is it possible ? Thank you

You should probably switch the two displays. Afaik this hub uses SiliconMotion's stuff which is something like DisplayLink, it is not a native display connection - but one of the ports should be native on this hub, that might support LG DualUp better.

If you post a screenshots of what are the detailed display infos under Settings/Displays I might understand the situation better.

Yah, like you said, definitely due to port. I tried using LG DualUp on port 1 and it works fine. This is properly an issue with the Virtual display, which may not support 16:18 ratio ?
The thing is my second monitor supports 120Hz refresh rate so I don't wanna use it with default 60Hz on the Virtual display. Do you have any idea on how can I use Virtual Display with custom ratio (16:18) ?

I don't think the SiliconMotion chip can drive the DualUp and encode/decode the required size (DisplayLink is also constrained to specific aspect ratios/resolutions), but you should try contacting them. On the macOS side it would be possible to create a 16:18 virtual screen.

I am using Hyperdrive as well, is it the same as your? Could you share how to make it works?

I use this one, Hyperdrive Dual HDMI, you can plugin HDMI 1 to main display, and HDMI 2nd to extra one.

I connect LG dual as my 2nd monitor and use HyperDisplay instant view to connect but the problem is there is no resolution that matches 16:18 for the LG monitor.

@siriwatknp I think you should use port 1 for LG, because virtual display does not support 16:18

Got it. My Dell S3221Qs (as a virtual monitor) does not have the resolution 2560x1440 that I used before 🥲.
