DDC Input Source not working / Messy OSD with LG-29WK600-W #1244

DDC input control is not universally supported by displays and the input values are more of suggestions than standards. :) The fact that the display actually does something (input goes away and then returns) is a good sign actually. You should check other inputs to see which one is wired to which input on your particular unit. You can customize the input icons and names under Settings/Displays. |

Thanks @waydabber I've tried all input options and all of them had the same behavior: screen goes dark like it's about to change the input and connects back to DisplayPort. What's very strange is the fact that I've figured out that my OSD gets buggy/inefficient just a A FEW MINUTES after I connect my MacBook Pro on the LG-29WK600-W - even when connecting it through HDMI. In the first minutes I can actually control anything I want from the physical buttons (input, volume, brightness, contrast, custom modes, etc) - after some random time, I'm able to control only the "VOL UP", and nothing else. BetterDisplay has nothing to do with it since this behavior happens with and without it. It is what it is. For now let's leave this information written here for the future. Thanks! |

Hello, I just came back after years to Mac OS (MBP M1 Pro) and thanks to BetterDisplay I can make my LG-29WK600-W look nicely even with a higher resolution that it is supported. There's still some flickering that I wish to resolve on dark colors, but that's not the focus right now - I can handle them for a while.
The focus right now for increasing my productivity is to take a look into the DDC Input Control:
(LG-29WK600-W has 3 inputs: HDMI1, HDMI2 and DisplayPort)
By some reason, when my MBP M1 Pro is connected, I can't access the OSD control on my LG-29WK600-W pressing the physical buttons to make the input change, nothing shows up when I click on the LG button. The only setting that works on the physical buttons is the "VOLUME UP", nothing else works.
I can adjust the brightness through BetterDisplay DDC and also the volume, so that's good..
If I disconnect my MacBook Pro, the OSD controls still keeps unavailable, none of the physical buttons work besides the "VOLUME UP" - so I need to unplug the screen from the electricity and plug it back for it to show up again.
Then I figured out that recently there was an update to access DDC Input control on BetterDisplay, and whenever I click on HDMI 1/2, screen goes black like it's going to switch, but it always goes to DisplayPort.
Let me know If there's any more informations I could provide for a better investigation.
Thanks a lot.
