[Feature Request] Port of ColorPicker to .NET Maui #59
Comments
Porting to Maui is on my list, but it will take time. |
I can help. Preview 11 now exposes the hwnd on the Microsoft.UI.Xaml.Window used to host the MAUI controls. I'm using it to successfully access the FileOpenPicker and FileSavePicker. I also have Win32 experience. If you have any tasks that I could perform in advance of your port, let me know. |
Cool. |
Hey, this project is what im searching for my app development. Are there any news on the MAUI port? |
In progress... |
Thanks a lot for the news! Good work btw! |
Hey there, any news on this? |
Hi Tobias,
I was working on this, with Victor, when I got sick and was out of commission for over 8 months. I'm back at it, but haven't resumed working on the project just yet and expect to do so by the mid-July. I'm planning on having working code in the .NET 8.0 timeframe.
Regards,
Gary

Thank you for the update Gary, sorry to hear you were sick, but great to hear that you are back in the saddle. All the best, Tobias |
Any update? |
Not right now. I've been fighting .net 8.0 and it's been slow going; lots of regressions.
I haven't been working on the project for a while BUT I'm almost at the end
of the one I've been working on and should get back to it within a week or so.
l ping you when I do. How are you and Microsoft getting along?
Regards,
Gary

Hey, just checking if this is still under development? |
Yes, but slowly because of illnesses and moves.

@IndianaGary When do you think it'll be done? Just asking for planning purposes. 😄 |
Likely not until at least June.

Hi Victor,
I've finally completed my 2000 mile move and am getting set up again. Not sure when I will get back to this project but will try soon.

Hope you filling well, last time we spoke you was ill.
From my side nothing new. Work in MS take all my time and energy. It's ok,
but sad that I can't work on my side projects.

I moved from Nevada to Indiana, about 1,860 miles. I'm feeling much better after being down off and on for about a year. Maui is much more stable now. I may try a straight port from Xamarin to Maui given the improvements and only alter the architecture where necessary (Behavior vs. Effect, for example). I'll keep you posted.
Regards
Gary

I am irked that the WINUI 3 ColorPicker is so complex and not easy to use in C# code.
I would much prefer a more straightforward implementation such as provided by this project, although I do realize that a new implementation would require creating a Handler rather than a custom Renderer.
One desirable feature enhancement would be to allow specification of, and the display of,a hex value, e.g. #rrggbbaa
with alpha, or #rrggbb without alpha (would default to 100%)
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
