Description of the bug

The first time clicking on a dropdown makes the computer hang for several seconds. @EirikKolas and @jorgenfj have both experienced this.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Install parameter slider extension
  2. Open panel in foxglove
  3. Click any drop-down menu
  4. Wait and observe
