a possible enhancement here is to have basic support for request logging middleware for various frameworks, e.g. fastapi.

not totally necessary to have in this repo, since individual projects can define it on their own, but it may be a nice QoL feature to have. especially so multiple projects don't have to redefine the same middleware.
