I want to test your app! Can you add a link to apk, or build instructions for dummies:)?

Ok, sharing the .apk with you. It is not tested on Android (on Linux works fine), because our server is down and we have no time recover it, but app should work. Note, that Android 5+ is not supported yet due to Qt bug. You can get .apk in Dropbox

And what about build instruction (with UI, no terminal, but you can find info how to build apk from terminal for Qt project):

  1. Download and install Qt for your OS. It has online installers for OS X, Windows and Linux.
  2. Choose Android armv7 Qt build.
  3. Download and install Android SDK and NDK (maybe JDK).
  4. Download and install ant.
  5. Set up QtCreator, using SDK, NDK and ant install locations.
(above steps described on Qt documentaion, or you can find it easely)
  6. Clone repo.
  7. Open qwnPlayer.pro in QtCreator.
  8. Select KIT for Android.
  9. Connect your device to PC.
  10. Build and deploy application to your device.
  11. Enjoy :)

I think, this tutorial is not very hard, but we share .apk through Dropbox, if you are finding building process hard for you

Ok, got it, but unfortunately now I have only Android 5-6 devices. What a chances of this bug to be fixed?

@jumper047 it all depends on Digia and Qt maintainers, but it seems like bug wont be fixed it 5.6.0. So, we are going to move our project to libvlc in very late February - early March.

Anyway stay turned.

Sorry.. We need much more time for integrating libvlc to project, cause compiling libvlc for different platforms requieres superhuman skills and patience...
vlc-qt project supports only linux, windows and macosx, so, in few weeks (less or more) we'll offer new qwnPlayer on these platforms.. vlc-qt devs promise android support in near feature, but we are not sure about iOS and WInRT

@jumper047 Hey, we're back!

I've get a dirty hack in QtAndroidMediaPlayer and bundle it to our last APK.
It works.. At least, it plays songs on Android 5 and 6, but it takes about 10-20 seconds on load song before start. It is a sort of Android Bug, and we are researching for solution.
When it downloads song, our UI got some freezes, so, don't panic, please, wait for a while.

So, you can get apk v0.4.1 in Dropbox.

We will be so pleased for your feedback

Just tried to open link with incognito-mode and without it - everything is ok. Try again, or we can send your apk directly
