We found this temporary workaround:

  1. Using Ungoogled-Chromium, go to chrome://extensions/
  2. Temporarily remove Chromium Web Store
  3. Using those steps, reinstall Chromium Web Store
  4. Close Ungoogled-Chromium
  5. Start Ungoogled-Chromium
  6. The error message is gone

This challenge seems to be with chromium-web-store. Not ungoogled-chromium. So I'm closing this ticket now

For those facing this challenge with chromium-web-store, you might be interested in this other ticket at NeverDecaf/chromium-web-store#120 (comment)
