Request: minimize running apps to the launcher

It would be great if we would have the ability to click on a virtual button of some kind and minimize all the running apps from the "cards" view to the launcher so that only the desktop is shown.
Or to minimize an individual app by swiping down in the "cards" view. Closing the app could be achieved by swiping up on the card.
