As soon as #299 is merged, we can further look into the performance of automaton and how it can be improved. Relevant points:

  • Does further inlining help? Inspect core to see which parts don't get properly inlined
  • Compare performance against standard streaming solutions like streaming, machines
  • How does exception handling fare? Both the full monad interface and the restricted selective interface
