Cannot emit but can receive

This is probably because socket.io has been updated to 2.0, which is not backwards compatible with this version of the client.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you (I would have given it if I had). I haven't used socket.io in combo with RN recently. Are you sure that, these days, RN doesn't "just work" with the regular socket.io? What issues are you having with the regular 2.x client?
