Currently if a tour only touches a few files in a repository that has a lot of changes, we will do a lot of unnecessary work when processing diffs. The attached tour has a few ideas about how to optimize this process.

This attachment is actually a tour file, GitHub just doesn't accept the .tour extension for attachments.
