As the number of members beings to grow, consider UX scaling options:

New members will by default only see their own statistics
New members can request to join an existing competition group
New members can create a new competition group
Members can be a member of multiple groups
Groups will require an administrator to manage group name and permissions
Non-authenticated homepage can show aggregate data for groups

Allow group member to unsubscribe from specific updates from another group member?
Update notification emails to handle multiple group memberships?
