This subject will be replaced by a subject called Culinary Skills. This will cover the following:-
- food science. Teaching about proteins, carbohydrates etc
- the science and techniques of cookery. Foods that are cooked for health reasons (e.g. potatoes, eggs). The processes of boiling, frying, grilling, baking and why we do it.
- types of foods and how we might cook them
- vegetarian and vegan diets
- balancing diets based on food stuffs and meal planning
