Support for video and GIF in the background

Hi there!

I tried to use video and GIF formats as a background for the getdown launcher, but I did not have success.

So, I would like to know if it makes sense for the getdown project to implement support for these formats? If yes, I would really like to contribute to this feature as it would be very nice for my project.
