Issues with sensor.samba_backup

I am very happily using your add-on. Recently I discovered spook which keeps pestering me with warnings about "Unknown entities used in" relating to sensor.samba_backup.

I asked in their issues if we can permanently disable the warning about this particular sensor and was told to report it upstream. Maybe you could have a look?

This add-on uses a method it shouldn't use. Please report the issue upstream.

The correct way to integrate with Home Assistant is by using an integration or a protocol like MQTT. This add-on bypasses everything by directly injecting stuff into Home Assistant's state machine.

Hi,

i have had the same problem since updating to Home Assistant 2024.11.3. The samba_backup sensor is not available.

Even the method recommended in the documentation for this add-on to restore the sensor with

• service: hassio.addon_stdin
  data:
  addon: 15d21743_samba_backup
  input: restore-sensor

no longer seems to work. How could this be fixed?

Hmmm... a restart of home assistant has now fixed it for the time being ... I will continue to monitor it ... 😉
