Let's make it more clear that this is a good entry point for customizing threads. This is one of the very nice and configurable pieces of the threads 'stack'. It is feasible to write custom JSON CRDTs, or Protobuf-based encoders. We might want to provide one or two additional examples in the white paper ASAP.
