By not using file_column? :trollface: Apologies for the sarcasm, but file_column is a painfully old plugin that is no longer maintained and has been superseded several times over by much better solutions, e.g. carrierwave, paperclip, dragonfly, attachment-fu... see https://www.ruby-toolbox.com/categories/rails_file_uploads for a complete list.
