Debugging hanging CSSMinimizerPlugin #1243

I have the following issue:

  • non-Symfony PHP project having setup webpack encode with default settings, the only change to the default webpack.config.js is enabling Typescript
  • a single large css file (640kb in size) leads to production build hanging on the CssMinimizerPlugin (92% sealing asset processing CssMinimizerPlugin)
  • splitting said file into 5 pieces has the same result, even though individually each piece (roughly equal) builds normally.

I do not know how to get past this in any way or how to get more verbose output so that I can debug the process.
