I'd recommend using a Docker container and/or a scheduling service instead of this mod. This mod is more so meant for testing, and not for actual production use.
This isn't really high priority for me atm and I probably won't look into this anytime soon.

Check out the documentation of https://github.com/itzg/docker-minecraft-server, there's also a bunch of example configs in the repository.
Should be quite straightforward to set up, especially with Portainer CE set up.

I'll add a note about this to the readme in the future.
