Twig has released 2.0 and stakx is currently locked in at 1.28.x. Support for Twig 2.x will come, however there's no ETA at the moment.

Here's a list of things to do and consider:

Take care of deprecations of Twig 2
Twig 2 is only PHP 7, so stakx will need to delay support for Twig 2 for a while since stakx supports PHP 5.6+ officially
There are some wonky hacks that will need to be properly (or improperly) ported to Twig 2

stakx will continue to use Twig 1.x for now.
