I'm a PhD student in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires that also develops and maintains R packages mainly as an offshoot of my academic activity.
For instance, I created the metR package that makes it easy to read, process and plot meteorological information, or the ggnewscale package, which allows plotting multiple colour and fill scales in ggplot2.
I'm also an active member of the R community. I co-founded the R user group R in Buenos Aires, contributed to the LatinR and useR!2021 conferences. I also design and create courses on the use on R, like An R reproducibility toolkit for the practical researcher, and R para clima, both co-lead with Paola Corrales.
To be brutally honest, I singed up for GitHub sponsors just to see what it was, so I have no idea what to do with any money I get. Perhaps that could change in the future, though. :)
