I enjoy being involved with Scala OSS and Typelevel very much! I am eager to find ways to continue contributing at my current pace that are long-term sustainable. If you appreciate my work, I would appreciate your support ❤️
Alternatively (or additionally :) please consider contributing to the Typelevel organization. They have financially supported my work in the past (thank you!) and may be facing new expenses as the organization grows!
What I do in Scala OSS and Typelevel
- I'm an active maintainer of Cats, Cats Effect, FS2, http4s, and more.
- BDFL of sbt-typelevel. I work hard to keep builds, CI, and websites healthy in Typelevel/http4s orgs.
- Coordinate across repos, upstream good ideas, improve tooling, tackle projects that have org-wide impact.
- Poke my nose where it doesn't belong to
lectureadvise on binary-compatibility, builds/infrastructure, and Scala.js/Native. - Help new and returning contributors get involved! If that's you, please reach out :)
- Provide support where I can on Discord. And learn a lot too!
Longer term projects I'm currently focused on
- Mentoring our Typelevel Summer of Code contributors
- Cats Effect I/O Integrated Runtime Concept
- Enhancing and improving support for Scala Native, to bring it on parity with JVM. Multithreading, here we come!
Prior art that I'm proud of
- sbt-typelevel, and migrating a shittone of builds to use it
- Cross-building fs2-io, http4s ember, skunk, and friends for Scala.js
- Cross-building the entire Typelevel stack for Scala Native (blog post)
