Active stake versus circulating supply #40

Appreciate if anyone can help me understand how active stake can be 75% while circulating supply is 64%? I thought if SOL was staked then by definition it is not circulating. Also 390 million active staked SOL implies a total chain security of around $39 billion at current prices. That's higher than the $33 billion I calculated for Ethereum. Is that accurate? The number of validators on Ethereum is two orders of magnitude greater. Implies validating on Solana is a whale game? |
