Geomagic Force interpolation

Hi, I am playing with the Geomagic plugin and in particular the different behavior when using the linear and non linear constraint solver.

I am noticing that with LinearConstraintsSolver the device seems to store the stiffness of the object in between SOFA frames and interpolate a force while the device continues to move, while with GenericConstraintsSolver the device is simply using the force calculated in the last frame.

Does anyone knows what is causing this different behavior and if it is controlled by the plugin or SOFA itself ?

Hi @bakpaul, I saw your other message and I'm finishing to write my reply. I tried to split the discussion though because I felt like they were two different topics. The first one focused on why LCP would generate such a different force compared to Generic - which may now be clear - and this one on why Generic would give a constant force between frames while LCP seems to interpolate it. I feel like the discussions would be more pertinent to people having similar doubts if they are divided this way, but we can move it if you prefer.
