I downloaded the binary installation file of sofa 23.12.00, and then after the installation was successful, I downloaded the driver of geomagic touch, etc.,

1. Start sofa and add the geomagic.dll file of geomagic in the plugin folder under the sofa installation path.
2. Add the geomagic.dll in plugin manager
   
3. Connect geomagic touch and open a default scene, but there is no mobile device. The device in sofa does not move and does not respond. Geomagicdevice displays invalid.

Hello,

Using a geomagic device requires first a calibration phase, called 'setup' by Geomagic. Normally, (this is the case on ubuntu), along with the driver, geomagic should have installed a utilitary called "Geomagic Touch Setup". You should run it to make sure your interface is recognized and works correctly. It this GUI you should also find the Device name, that one should correspond to the one set in the Sofa scene.

I made sure that I executed the calibration program Touch Setup you mentioned, and the device name is Default Device, which is consistent with the device name in the sofa scene.

I don't quite understand what you mean. I have installed openhaptics. I just need to add the two variables CMAKE_INCLUDE_PATH and CMAKE_LIBRARY_PATH as @bakpaul said and then reopen soap make. Will I have the OPENHAPTCS_HDU_LIBRARY in your picture?

I don't know about what @epernod said. Actually I've never used it on windows and he uses it a lot in his work. I was simply trying to help you given the information you provided. Maybe the reason why you are not getting the same results is because you didn't install the driver in the good way. @epernod, could you provide the steps on how you installed the openhaptics library so you both have the same configuration ? Di you use a zip or an installer exe ?

Just to finish on your last question, CMAKE_LIBRARY_PATH and CMAKE_INCLUDE_PATH are lists of path. Meaning you can add any number of path you want inside it, separated by semicolons, so you could add anything you think might be the right one. But of course CMake try to find it recursively, and the default maximum depth is something like 50, so I guess that you could provide only the root folder of your driver, and if it doesn't work you can iterate by giving more precise paths.

Sorry, I read again your post. Do you confirme you are using the binary install version of SOFA? Not compiling it? Same for SOFA Geomagic plugin?
Was the .dll in the bin folder?
And you installed openHaptics with the installer .exe?

yes，I installed it by using openhaptics.exe and got the following file

I downloaded the binary file installation of sofa23.12, but did not compile the source code of sofa. Then I cloned the source code of version 23.12 from github and copied it from the source code. Copy the geomagic plugin folder and compile it out of the tree. In the binary file of sofa23.12 installed, I found the geomagic .dll file, but it didn't seem to work. The device and geomagic_demo.scn could not be linked. I also made sure that I used The installer.exe installed openHaptics

It keeps prompting this. When I open the generated project to generate the solution, the following error is prompted.

Your error makes sense, C:\Users\Administrator\SOFA\v23.12.00\bin.obj doesn't exist. bin is a folder containing dll files, and not obj files. Obj files are files generated by the compiler for each cpp file that you have. Those objects are then used to generate the library, which is kind of a concatenation of such object files. The fact that you (your project) is looking in this folder for object file is wrong, because those are build related object, an cannot be found in the distributed binaries.

If it is the CMake project we have talked about, could you please provide the related CMakeCache.txt file, so we can check what is the problem with your project ?

This file is normally located in the build directory, directly at the root. I'm sorry, I don't know if you are familiar with such CMake based projects.
