Problem with import SofaCaribou

I’ve compiled Sofa v.23.06 from sources with SofaPython3 and Caribou using all the steps described in and when importing the packages in python I get: (I’m on Windows10 ).When I import SofaCaribou in python, I have problem like this:

I use cmake to compile and produce SofaCaribou_d.dll and SofaCaribou.Benchmark.dll, and don't have SofaCaribou.dll. I can't load these two .dll file in sofa scene with plugin manager. Can someone help me?

You might need to add in your PYTHONPATH the path to the Caribou site-packages.

Yes. I compiled Caribou out of tree with SOFA. I set CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH to $SOFA_ROOT/lib/cmake.

OK @kaihuang-ak so you did set the SOFA_ROOT environment variable as stated here, right ?
At configuration time of Caribou, do you have well the CMake var CARIBOU_WITH_SOFA ON ?

Yes. I set the SOFA_ROOT environment variable , and when I cmake, I have the cmake var CARIBOU_WITH_SOFA on.
I also try to cmake in ubuntu20.04 in my VMWARE. it can't still import SofaCaribou as like below.

Hi to both of you,

I'll give my two cents, even if I am not in the same exact situation as the one you're facing kaihuang-ak.
In fact, I compiled Caribou in-tree, not the same as you.

Still, when running the same import commands as you I have the same error if SofaCaribou is not placed in the install/bin folder with all the other SOFA dlls.
When building Caribou in-tree, SofaCaribou's dll is generated at install/plugins/SofaCaribou/bin/ location, same scheme as for other SOFA plugins.
I don't know where is located the SofaCaribou.dll when building out-of-tree but I would suggest the same copy/paste dirty fix...

Also, mentionning you have SofaCaribou_d.dll instead of SofaCaribou.dll let me think you are compiling in Debug mode, not sure it is what you want.
Did you checked that you selected Release configuration_type in VS gui ?
