Check these two out

https://github.com/biolab/orange3 (non-NN)

The way they design their building look is very intuitive:

There are dots on the two sides to indicate input/output
They have pictures to go with each block

For reference https://github.com/Cloud-CV/Fabrik is also for TF but it looks very similar, and https://github.com/TommyX12/tensorbuilder has a slightly different design.
