I would lie to inform you of an unfortunate 'namespace' clash. The adoc prefix is also used by auto-document.el. Please consider using ascii-doc- as the prefix for adoc-mode. Maybe even renaming adoc-mode to ascii-doc-mode. If however you decide to keep using the adoc-prefix, consider adding a disclaimer to the readme (when it is written).

I personally would't mind changing the prefix of my adoc-mode. However I really don't know how many users that would affect. Both libraries, adoc-mode.el and auto-document.el, according to the "Created" tag, where created in 2009, so none of the two were first. Are you the author of auto-document.el? If not, I could ask him whether he would mind changing his prefix.
Arguments can go both ways autodoc-mode, audoc-mode, or asciidoc-mode, ascdoc-mode. @sensorflo Maybe you can contact rubikitch to come up with a neat solution?
