Project build fails in Android Studio #11

This is the error I get when building the project
Error:(49, 1) A problem occurred configuring project ':app'.

Could not get unknown property 'compileReleaseJavaWithJavac' for project ':app' of type org.gradle.api.Project.

I get this error also when I try to run the android tutorials from the official website. Please help
