It appears that the jCenter repository has been more or less terminated, see this article. The update of 4/27/2021 in this article claims that jCenter will be kept alive in readonly mode indefinitely, but recently I'm experiencing a lot of outages that completely block me from building my cordova app. These outages may be temporary, but I wonder how much trouble one will keep going through to keep a terminated service alive.

Personally I'm not familiar at all with the world of Java binary repositories, but it seems that this plugin needs to move to another solution.
