Investigate Berachain Polaris

Not sure to what extent this is relevant because they are a Cosmos project and their implementation is written in Go, but Polaris is an EVM fork with stateful precompiles.

I suspect that Berachain has renounced the use of precompiles, because:

• https://docs.berachain.com/developers/precompile-addresses now generates a 404 error and
• "precompile" only appears twice in their documentation, on the Berachain Testnet V1 vs V2 page - and only to explain how the V1 precompile-based approach hasn't proven to be good enough.
