Would it work if I have dynamically generated tf files per workspace?

I'm thinking about using terraform override feature as a workaround alternative to terragrunt for different module source per workspace. I'm planning to generate an override.tf.json file in the directory based on the workspace. I guess this would work if atlantis has independent copy of the repository, otherwise the parallel plan runs will overwrite each others' auto-generated files.
I wonder if someone has tried something like this before?
