Gives an Error in Mediawiki 1.31.3

I tried to use this for MediaWiki 1.31.3 but when I saved a page containing

[https://my.do.main/url Some text|rel=follow]

I received an exception of type "Error".

My task is to add a rel-Attribute to certain links in our wiki and I'm currently struggling to find a way how to do that.

Both "Link Attributes" extensions seem outdated :(

These were the only changes I had to make to get it to work in MediaWiki 1.34: #13 (I think there are other improvements that could be made though).

What's the point of the other (core-modifying) extension? Seems confusing that we should have two; can the other be archived?

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Link_Attributes has another syntax and also supports setting classes.
