Emulation support for MacOS

The profiling will probably never work on MacOS, there are too many system dependencies on Linux (prof, /proc/, etc.). But the emulation part should be fairly portable, so we should try to get those arts better isolated, and to allow running the emulation w/o profiler supervision, which would get things usable on MacOS.
