Are archived CRAN packages still available? #568

When a CRAN package is archived, it becomes "unavailable". Is its read-only github mirror removed automatically, or does it remain "frozen" for any period?

It is not removed, it stays there.

Btw., it is not just the last version stays there, each package is in a git repository, and every version of the package is in a separate commit, so all published versions stay here, forever. (Well, for a very long time.)
