Is this project abandoned?
I see no activity in issues - no reply to reported bugs.

Not at all - it is fully maintained as always.

The maintainers are busy with preparing for version 1.20.
As part of this, the online documentation is under maintenance and temporarily offline. You can still download CHM and HTML versions from the published locations.

If you would have looked closer, you would also have seen advice how to circumvent the more urgent issues. There also is a lot activity in the Discussions section.
So ... no worries.
