Medusa search not returning everything

I am using latest version of Medusa 1.0.19

I use nzbgeek and usenet-crawler for my search providers. However quite often if I go to watch a show that is not new, its an older show or a show that is already on season three, for example, and I want to catch up watching season one and two... I will go in there and set those older episodes to WANTED, but it doesn't find them. Then I try to manually search and it comes up with nothing.

but then I'll go to the nzbgeek website directly and find all kinds of NZB's for the episodes in question...which apparently medusa could not detect for some reason.

What am I doing wrong with medusa?

some shows it seems to work and some shows it just doesn't find anything and I have to go manually download them all using nzbgeek directly which is tedious..would love to be able to manage it all a little more automatically with medusa.

I do find that Medusa tends to get recent episodes of everything in my show list seemingly without much trouble, hardly ever, the episodes show up. Its when I try to go back back episodes that seems problematic to me, but maybe there are some settings I can fine tune? Please talk me through it.
