Hi all,
You should consider reframing this entire project. These refugees have agency outside of being "Snowden's" guardians. Furthermore, the framing is that they somehow Snowden's "possession" or property, which is deeply problematic for many reasons. I have raised this issue privately with others before and I think its time to have an open discussion about this.

Best,
FM

OK, what would you recommend? And how would you "reframe" things?

Peter

Hi @pstimpel sure, just some feedback:

Snowden's Guardian Angels: the apostrophe in English indicated possession. This is why I say it is problematic as these refugees do not belong to Snowden; they are their own people. I would recommend The Defenders of Snowden, which I think is better.

Some more feedback: The Snowden's Guardian Angels are a bunch of guys. They are not just guys but include women and children. The current README is not reflective of this.

Best,

Thanks for the feedback.

As for the "bunch of guys"...I am no native speaker, but as far as I know from many conversations, the days where "guys" translates to "men" are over. If someone says "camera guys", he/she does not say there are only "camera men", it means much more "people behind the camera, gender-neutral".
