Panel constantly resizes as seconds pass in the clock applet

The font used for the clock causes it to constantly resize as seconds and minutes pass, leading to this annoying jiggle of the entire panel every other second when its set to not extend to the edges of the screen.

This is especially annoying when the clock is all the way to the right.
This makes every applet to the left move as well.

The clock applet should have a fixed width that is not dependent on the actual time.
