Currently a scale bar is shown. However, for chronograms, most users will prefer to have the entire scale from the root to 0 MYA, like below. We might want to actually add the geologic time scale. There are R functions for that (e.g., http://simpson-carl.github.io/articles/15/timescales.to.base).

best example is actually TimeTree.org. Go there, upload a list (one name per line) and look at the tree.
