Packit-as-a-Service-stg

We are very happy for the users that create new issues when there is some problem with the packit-service.

Now, we would like to ask the 💪 brave ones to install our 🚧 staging instance 🚧 to catch the problems before going to production.

Few points to consider:

  • ℹ️ You might want to install both applications together to not disrupt your current workflow.
  • 📝 Both applications use the same config file.
  • 🐌 Staging application has fewer resources and can be a bit slower in responses.
  • ⚠️ Staging application does not support propose-downstream job.
  • 🔢 You will have twice the number of commit statuses for your PRs.
  • 🐛 Please, let us know when something looks weird or does not work with the staging app.
  • ➕ You are helping us be sure that we don't break your use-case.

Thank you in advance!

Technicalities:

  • Staging application uses main versions/branches of packit-service, packit and ogr.
    • The rebuild is done for each push to main and re-deployment from the new images is done each whole hour.
  • Production application uses stable branches of packit-service and packit. It is rebuilt on Monday and deployed on Tuesday.
