Better error message and more tolerant syntax

Funny, but it took me a while to figure out how to sort the documents. Coming from 3T Studio, I'm use to be able to just enter:

{ _id: -1 }

But that threw an error with Spruce. Only when I entered the syntax with the suggestions it worked as in:

{ "_id": -1 }

Maybe this can be adjusted to be more tolerant as I don't want to type more than I need to and I definitely didn't expect it to throw an error :)

Also, why is there a "sort" over the field editor? Does that mean it's only for sorting and we are not able to add, e.g., limit?

Hi, thanks for the report! This used to work so it's a regression that slipped through when I updated the editor to Monaco.

Yes, that's because it's only a sort field. This could be revisited, but I intentionally chose not to surface limit in order to, pardon the pun, limit the number of UI elements, and also because there's a built-in limit. I definitely agree that it probably should be more flexible in some way.
