moving from master to main

FYI, in progress of moving default branch from 'master' to 'main'

should not have user impact but devs wanna run the following in their loal repo when it happens:

git branch -m master main
git fetch origin
git branch -u origin/main main
git remote set-head origin -a

FYI @quintesse @aalmiray @gastaldi @fbricon who helps maintains repos.

...and of course just as I started this github action starts having issues...hopefully should be over soon so can actually verify I fixed all refs :)

this should all now be in effect! main is the new master.
