What does the trial consist of?
During the trial, you will be tasked to provide a solution (in the form of a PR) to a problem. Problems are not always defined so, when picking a Goal, you will have to identify the problem yourself.
Why do I need to participate in the trial?
It's all about the team culture that we care about. Part of this team culture is the individual ability to figure things out, provide the right solutions, display initiative, be honest and transparent, take responsibility, care for details, ability to make the right calls, and much more.
All these traits can't be assessed unless we collaborate on something together. It's also a good opportunity for you to get the real feeling of working with our team and see if it fits your style. We'll understand if it doesn't align with your values and you don't want to participate, just let us know.
Is the trial paid?
We only pay for the PRs (pull requests) that have been merged. If you have spent time and have been unsuccessful on your trial, you won't be paid.
When does the trial begin?
The trial begins once you are assigned (self-assigned) to a Goal or a Problem. According to our Guildelines, you should provide an update every 4 hours in the form of a commit or a message. If there will be no activity from your side, we reserve the right to terminate your trial period.
How much time do I have?
Our trials are usually completed in 1-2 days. The limit is within 5 days.
I have a question about my assignment. Where do I ask it?
Engineering questions are discussed solely in GitHub. Ask questions in your Goal or Problem directly. Operational questions can be discussed in DM.
Can I get a different task on trial?
No, you can't.
Do I get hired after the trial?
After the trial, your results will undergo a collective verification and assessment from a board of responsible members. Since we will be in touch, we will communicate to you personally the results of the trial and the next steps awaiting.
